Shaghayegh Samen, better known as Claudia Lynx (Persian: کلودیا لینکس, born June 8, 1982), is an Iranian actress, singer, and model.[1][2] She gained recognition for her role in the 2005 horror film Legion of the Dead. Lynx began her professional career at a young age, engaging in various artistic fields, including modeling[3][4] and music.[5]

Early life and Career

Claudia Lynx was born on June 8, 1982, in Tehran, Iran to Iranian parents.[6][7][8] Several months after her birth, her family moved to Oslo, Norway.[9][10] At the age of three, Claudia was discovered by an acting director named Katrina Karingeborg[11] while waiting with her nanny at a children's dental office.[12] She began working as a child model for advertisements for children's products, such as diapers.[13] Her family later moved to Canada,[14][15] where, at the age of 13, Claudia started working as a children's program host on Tamasha TV, an Iranian television channel airing in Canada and the United States.[16][17] She then relocated to Los Angeles, United States, to pursue acting and modeling more seriously.[18][19]

In 1995, Claudia Lynx collaborated with the fashion house Thierry Mugler[20] and wore a metallic, futuristic "robot suit" designed by the brand.[21] The garment was photographed by Helmut Newton,[22] and the resulting images were widely circulated within the fashion industry. Later, on February 15, 2024, Zendaya wore the same Thierry Mugler robot suit, following Claudia Lynx, to the world premiere of Dune: Part Two in London.

She also collaborated with other brands, such as Levi's[23], Nikky Sports[24] and appeared in publications like Suhaag Magazine[25] and Tehran Magazine.[26][27] In 2004, she was chosen as the advertising face of "Diablo Racing Wheels."[28] That same year, with the help of Koji Zadori and "Taraneh Records,"[5] she released her debut album "Shaghayegh" in the Iranian market.[29] Also in 2004, Lynx made her acting debut as "Nefertiti" in the documentary "Ramses: Wrath of God or Man?" alongside Morgan Freeman for Discovery Channel.[30] She has also appeared in Hollywood films and series, including Legion of the Dead,[31] Succubus: Hell-Bent, Lady Magdalene's,[32] and The Sixth, which was produced in 2006 and released in 2011 as both a music video and a short film directed by Edward Mendoza.[33][34]

In 2008, a year after breaking up with her fiancé Kamran Jafari,[35][36][37] Lynx appeared in the documentary "The Jacksons Are Coming," [38] which caused a lot of controversy. British Medias such as Daily Mail [39] [40] claimed in an article that Claudia and Tito Jackson were in a relationship,[41] but she denied this claim in an interview with the BBC, stating that Tito was like her older brother and that there was no romantic relationship between them.[42]

Disappearance

On March 12, 2013, when Lynx was at the peak of her popularity, she suddenly announced her retirement by posting a picture on her Facebook and then disappeared from public view completely. she was last seen in Canada in March 2019.

From 2009 to 2013,[43][44][45] she was selected as one of the most beautiful women in the world by YouTube users,[46][47][48] alongside figures such as Aishwarya Rai, Megan Fox, Halle Berry, Charlize Theron, and Keira Knightley.[49][50]
