Clean Value Plastics (CVP) is a company founded in 2005 that recycles contaminated plastics.[citation needed] The company patented a technology it calls HydroDyn.
Patented technology
HydroDyn is a process that originated from the refiner technology used by the timber and paper industries. Contaminated plastic wastes are purified within a closed-loop water circuit. A hydrodynamic friction washing process decontaminates plastics, leaving them free from cellulose and adhesives. The process uses no chemicals, reducing contamination of the environment and decreasing costs.[citation needed]
In 2007, the first recycling plant with HydroDyn technology was built for the waste management company Sita.[1] near Leipzig in Germany. The plant did not work as planned and was closed in 2008. A second PET recycling plant with HydroDyn technology was built in 2010 for the company Meister Recycling[2] near Fulda in Germany.
