Siliguri falls under the humid subtropical climate (Cwa), when using the Köppen climate classification. Warm summer, cool winter and a severe monsoon define Siliguri's climate. The annual mean temperature is 24 °C. Monthly mean temperatures vary from 16 °C in January to 28 °C in August. Summers are warm and humid with the maximum temperatures ranging between 26-32 °C. Though the mercury may cross the 36 degree mark during June, July and August. Winter lasts for three and a half months, mid November to February, with seasonal lows dipping 5-7 °C. The highest temperature ever recorded in Siliguri was 41.7 °C on 15 April 1952 and the lowest is 1.9 °C, which was recorded on 8 January 2018.

Rains brought by South-west monsoon from Bay of Bengal lash the city between June to September. It supplies the city with most of its annual rainfall (3248 mm).
