The Cobbler is a friendly friend you can encounter in The Stairwell
Method
Upon reaching Landing 99, all players will meet Cobbler, who will plead for help, Players have the choice to pull the Fire Alarm and escape down the flight of stairs, burning Cobbler and receiving the Salvation badge. If Players choose not to burn the Cobbler, they can talk to the Cobbler, who will offer trades for rather Specie, Scanner, Starlight Jug, or Peach Cobbler.
Cobbler accepts many trades, but offers the most for items FOUND in the Stairwell, instead of giving the Players Gold that they can bring out of the Stairwell, Cobbler gives players Store Credit, which can be traded in the following ways :
- Broken Lamp - 5$
- Pack of Gween Soda - 20$
- Gas Tank - (Depends on Gas Price)
- Broken Computer - 2$
- Large Screw - 10$
- Tophat - 100$
- Bottles - 10¢ per bottle
- Ceramic Stem - 1000$ and grants you the Friend Ball achievement
To purchase Specie from Cobbler costs 200-300 Gold, Peach Cobbler costs 500 gold and grants all living Players the Out Hot Eat the Food achievement only if you give the Peach Cobbler to Subaru Natsuki. The Scanner costs Players 1000 gold, which can be used for many things, check the Scanner page for more info. The Starlight jug costs 1500 Store Credit and awards all living players the Super-Size Me badge.
Strategy
Since Cobbler doesn't accept outside gold, it is best to collect only as much gold as you need, it is also recommended to buy Peach Cobbler only when Subaru Natsuki is near you so that you can get the Out Hot Eat the Food badge, if you are attempting Salvation, it's best you escape Cobbler's shop before ever talking to Cobbler, as talking to Cobbler closes the door and disallows you to escape. After burning the Cobbler, it is recommended to grab all items on the shelf, as Specie and the Starlight Jug can really help you with escaping Mines and getting the Stick to the Script ending.
