Cochi is a Mexican short fiction film, directed by Aldo Meléndrez and released in 2020.[1]
It tells the story of Al, a 12-year-old boy who is struggling to come to terms with the departure of a loved one. The film explores the theme of grief and how it can leave us feeling lost and alone in an inhospitable world. Through Al's journey, we see how he tries to cope with his emotions and find a way to heal his heart so that he can see the color in life again.
The film premiered at Shorts México.[2] In March 2021, the film was included in Shorts Mexico's annual list of best Mexican short films.[3]
The film received a Premio Corazon for Best Frontera Short Film at the 28th San Diego Latino Film Festival in 2021.[4]
