CodeBase (stylized as <Codebase />) is a 2004 novel by Kansas author Chris Johnson. The book was endorsed by Richard Wallace, creator of A.L.I.C.E, who also offered the book to his subscribers.[citation needed]

Synopsis[edit]

The book follows Philip, an introverted computer programmer that builds an operating system he names Dylan. As Dylan's AI system becomes more refined, he attempts to try to connect Philip with Sally Stone, a pop-star that Philip is infatuated with. The two talk and the awkward meeting is strange enough to cause Philip some stress. When Dylan starts to run with the idea that Sally is Philip's soulmate, things take a turn which ends up causing Sally to take legal action. The court appearance turns into a circus when Philip is court ordered to go on a quest to find Sally. The quest is filmed with the help of some producers and film makers to document the story of Philip and Sally's very odd courtship.
