Cody Longo (born March 4, 1988) is an American actor and musician from Denver, Colorado. He began his career acting in movies such as "Bring It On: Fight to the Finish" and "Fame," finding an outburst of fame with the Nickelodeon show "Hollywood Heights." Since then, Longo has become a dramatic actor and has launched his music career, releasing countless singles since 2012.

Early Life[edit]

Longo was born and raised in Littleton, Colorado. Having musicians and artists in his family, and growing up in a very artistic and musically inclined manner, he taught himself how to play the piano at a young age. He also started his acting career young doing stage, and studying theater. Longo, later moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting, also continuing to study both theater and psychology.[1]

Career[edit]

Longo started working on a few small films and guest stars before getting the role of Evan Whitbourne for the newest Bring It On movie in 2009. A few months after “Bring It On: Fight to the Finish” (2009) was released, his next film, starring in Fame (2009), which was released world wide in theaters. Longo had a recurring role on the popular ABC Family drama “Make It or Break It” (2009) as Nicky Russo. He also worked on the popular show “Brothers and Sisters” playing a Young Tommy, in which TV guide announced Longo’s character as one of the best flashback acting jobs on TV.

Longo’s also starred in the independent movie called “High School” (2010) that premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January of 2010 with great reviews,[2] and then co-starring in the huge summer thriller flick “Piranha 3D” (2010) which was released world wide in theaters August 2010.

For about four months in 2010, Longo filmed and starred in “Not Today” (2011) in India, also composing a song with his band Forever The Day for the soundtrack. Then signed on to star as Young Isaac in the 2011 drama movie “For the Love of Money” which was shot in Los Angeles, and signed onto CSI:NY recurring as the son of Sela Ward's character.

In 2012, Longo landed the lead role in a Nick@Nite drama series called “Hollywood Heights.” The show premiered in mid-June and was shown five nights a week through October. The series lasted one season, compiling of eighty episodes and gained a multitude of fans and also showcased not only Longo’s acting abilities, but his musical abilities as well.

In early 2013, the hard work that Longo had put in on the film “Not Today” finally paid off when the film hit theaters in limited release in April.

Since then, Longo has been working hard on new film, music, and his organization Live Alive which helps people follow their dreams and to keep the arts in schools.[3]

Music[edit]

As a top 100 pop artist, Longo began working on his own solo music.[4] [[Mirrorball Entertainment and Sony Records Distribution ]] signed Longo as a musical artist in 2012 and his debut single, Atmosphere, was released on August 22, 2012.[5] The song hit the iTunes top 100 Pop chart the very same day.

On September 14, 2012, Longo opened up for the pop artist Andy Grammer at the Taste of Newport and soon after, he released his next single Falling Into You in December. Longo went straight back into the studio and released his next single, She Said, on February 26, 2013. Also charting, making him a pop top 100 artist.

On March 22, 2014, Longo released a remix of Falling Into You, featuring B-Nice, this being Longo's first feature on the successful EP.

Longo filmed the music video for his newest single Scream on November 4, 2014
