Cody Moxam
Cody Moxam is an American psychology scholar, counselor, and healthcare professional. He is best known for his studies and community contributions at the University of Colorado Boulder. He was a scholar at the Renée Crown Wellness Institute and was one of the co-designers for the institute’s Mindful Campus Program[1][2] and CU Boulder’s “Flourishing, Belonging, and Liberation” academic course. He was also a member of the university’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee and an Ambassador of Recovery for the CU Collegiate Recovery Center (CUCRC).

Education[edit]
Cody Moxam graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in music. While studying for his undergraduate degree, Moxam served as an undergraduate research assistant at the Renée Crown Wellness Institute, Arch Lab, and the University of Utah’s C-MIND. He also served as a Student Learning Assistant (LA) in the clinical psychology department.
Cody Moxam authored the independent honors thesis, “The Effect of a Mental Health Intervention on Health Behaviors Among Cancer Survivors: Randomized Trial of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy for Anxious Cancer Survivors in Community Clinics,” which he presented at CU Boulder’s UROP Sidewalk Symposium. In his capacity as an undergraduate research assistant, he also co-designed the Mindful Campus Program and the academic course, “Flourishing, Belonging, and Liberation,” which covered subjects such as mindfulness and social justice.
While studying at CU Boulder, Moxam received several scholarships, such as the CU Arts and Sciences GOLD (Graduates of the Last Decade) Scholarship, the Barry and Sue Baer Scholarship Endowed Crown Institute Scholarship, the David E. Drutz Undergraduate Psychology Scholarship and Award, and the Samuel DeFord Scholarship from the University of Colorado Collegiate Recovery Center.
Moxam is currently taking pre-medical studies at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
Career[edit]
Cody Moxam worked at Choice House in Boulder, Colorado as a Behavioral Health Technician and at the CU Department of Emergency Medicine as a Certified Physician Shadow. He is a Certified Medical Scribe in General and Emergency Medicine and a Certified Addiction Technician (CAT) in the state of Colorado. He is also an RYT-certified yoga instructor.
Community service[edit]
Cody Moxam was a community leader at CU Boulder, participating in the CU Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee and playing a crucial role in organizing the committee’s recurring community event and dinner for underrepresented students.
Cody Moxam was also an Ambassador of Recovery for the CU Collegiate Recovery Center. He facilitated weekly community meetings and managed recovery housing for students recovering from addictions.
He has also served as a sponsor for 12-step recovery programs, mentoring and meeting with individuals on a weekly basis.
Personal Life[edit]
In his spare time, Moxam enjoys hobbies such as writing and performing music, mindfulness and meditation, surfing, sand volleyball, rock climbing, poetry writing, and dance. His favorite music artists include Skrillex, Daft Punk, Roger, Parliament Funkadelic, and Daebull.
