Patricia Bassereau, born in 1959, is a French biophysicist and CNRS research director at the Institut Curie in Paris. After working in Montpellier in the field of soft matter, she arrived at the Physico Chimie Curie laboratory from Institut Curie in 1993. For more than twenty years, she has been working on the "physics of the cell".

In May 2021, she was appointed Chevalier of the Ordre national du Mérite by the French government.[1]
