Cogman is a fictional character who made his debut in the Transformers: The Last Knight film and is voiced by Jim Carter. Cogman has served the Burton Family for decades and served his late master, Sir Edmund Burton who is played by Anthony Hopkins.
He tends to come across as cocky and has a short temper especially with Cade Yeager (Mark Walberg) who keeps on ticking Cogman off with his cocky attitude and insults towards him and Sir Edmund Burton.
The Last Knight (2017)[edit]
Cogman made his debut in the Last Knight, when he was told by Sir Edmund Burton to go to America and bring Cade Yeager with him which he is reluctant to carry out the order but is forced into it by Burton who tells him he is important and needs to speak to him asap. Cogman flies out to the ruins of Chicago, which was destroyed during the battle between the Autobots and Decepticons in Dark of the Moon.
When Cogman arrives he saves Yeager, Izabella (Isabela Moner) and Jimmy (Jerrod Carmichael) who are being attacked by TRF drones and the Decepticons. When Cogman tries to get Yeager to go with hi, Yeager puts up a struggle with Cogman and Cogman ends up pushing Yeager out the elevator although his fall is broken by a TRF drone. When Cogman reaches Cade on the ground, he explains who he is and why he needs him to go with him back to London but the conversation is interrupted by Crosshairs who proceeds to try and grab Cogman only for Cogman to reverse the grab and flip Crosshairs in the air breaking one of his metal fingers in the process.
Yeager agrees to go with Cogman and he along with Bumblebee go to London to meet Sir Edmund Burton. After a meeting and Edmund showing Yeager and Vivian Wembly (Laura Haddock) the table of the Knights of the Round Table. They are attacked by TRF, London Police and Barricade but Cogman takes Burton to the library and tries to hide the car.
He later enters a submarine with Cade, Bumblebee and Vivian to find the staff that is actually belongs to Quintessa (Gemma Chan) and was stolen by the knights of Cybertron who betrayed her and gave it to the humans. After finding it they are attacked by the Knights and TRF only for it to be later taken by the Autobot leader, Optimus Prime who is now Nemesis Prime takes the staff and is pursued by Bumblebee and Yeager while Cogman and Vivian along with the TRF escape.
Cogman is seen later on with Sir Edmund Burton at Stonehenge where Megatron, Nitro Zeus and Barricade have fell back to when Megatron took the staff from Optimus Prime and is to take it back to Quintessa. While Megatron is seen gloating, Burton attacks him with his cane which is actually a gun and Megatron stumbles while the army attack him and his associates. When Megatron tells the Decepticons to retreat, he sees Burton and blasts him with his fusion cannon before flying off to Quintessa.
Cogman runs straight to his masters aid only for him to realize he is too late and that Burton was dying, they have a comical back to back conversation until Burton dies and Cogmans final line is "Of all the Earls I have had the pleasure to serve, you were by far the coolest".
Future Films[edit]
It is not known whether Cogman will appear in any future films or if he was just a one-off character as it was announced that the film series would become a shared universe similar to Disney/Marvel's Marvel Cinematic Universe and it would explore the roots of the Transformers possibly indicating future appearances but it is still yet to be confirmed.
