Cogo Labs is an incubator of internet companies founded in 2005 and headquartered in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Description[edit]
Cogo Labs was founded in 2005 by David Blundin and Micah Adler[1] under the name Adverplex.[2] The company is supported in funds by Link Ventures, a venture capital firm.[3] All startups begin as internal R&D projects within Cogo, and the company acts as a platform for big data and programmatic marketing, leveraging the technology to create consumer-facing websites that then continue to grow into successful startup companies.[4][5] Thus Cogo makes use of a replicable business model to build companies, and the model is altered to fit a given particular idea or vertical; the tools are general-purpose.[6]
Child companies[edit]
Cogo Labs defines its child companies as either in the "Pre-Launch", "Launched", or "Landed" phase.[7] The following is a list of all child companies.
- EverQuote
- Autotegrity
- CourseAdvisor (acquired by The Washington Post in 2007[8])
- CareDash
- abovo42
- HopJump[9]
- Uplift Financial
- Minerva Analytics
- Hausily (formerly Tenizen)
