Colegio Colombo Hebreo (also known as CCH) is a bilingual Jewish private school that offers preschool through 12th-grade education. The school is in Bogotá, Colombia.
Description[edit]
Colegio Colomo Hebreo is accredited by the Colombian Ministerio de Educación Nacional, Confederation of Jewish Communities of Colombia and the Cambridge Assessment International Education.[1] CCH is also affiliated with international organizations such as the Latin American Jewish Congress and the American Jewish Committee.[2]
History[edit]
Between 1944 and 1945 the Colombian Zionist Federation led by Juan Hanfling, Joseph Kushelevitch and Jacobo Averbuch decided to buy some land to build the first headquarters of the school under the name of Centro Cultural Colombo Hebreo which was finally inaugurated in 1948, the same year it was founded. the independence of the state of Israel.[3]
Curriculum[edit]
Colegio Hebreo Unión offers its students three languages: Spanish, English, and Hebrew.[4] Education is managed nationally and internationally such as:
- SABER 11 tests (ICFES)
- Hebrew tests from Universidad Hebraica, Mexico, for 5th and 10th grades
- Cambridge Primary: Progression Tests and Checkpoints, 2nd to 5th grade
- Cambridge Secondary: Progression tests
- Checkpoints and IGCSEs, 6th to 9th grade
- Support regarding TOEFL and PSAT, 10th and 11th grades
