From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Colette Saint Yves (born Hortense Lagrange; July 24th, 1987) is a French photographer, video artist, and collage artist.

Saint Yves is a descendent of the mathematician and astronomer, Joseph-Louis Lagrange. She said in an interview that she chose her pseudonym in tribute to the French writer Sidonie-Gabrielle Colette, because she read Sido when she was a teenager and was impressed by the book.[1][better source needed]

Saint Yves is known for taking her inspiration from early cinema and especially from actors and actresses such as Louise Brooks, Theda Bara, Lillian Gish, Musidora, Humphrey Bogart and Peter Lorre. Her work is very inspired by the artist Joseph Cornell.[2][better source needed]

Her photography has been featured in the magazines Petits Points,[3][better source needed] We Are Selecters,[4][better source needed] Elsewhere Magazine,[5] and WestEast Magazine.[6]

In February 2013, film director Scott Crary announced he had begun collaborating "on a book of illustrated short stories" with Saint Yves. Crary will author and Saint Yves will illustrate.[7][better source needed]
