College of Medicine, University of Ibadan
The College of Medicine of the University of Ibadan is the largest and oldest Medical school in Nigeria and consists of the faculties of Basic Medical Sciences, Clinical Sciences, Public Health and Dentistry. It started as a faculty but became a college with effect from 1 August 1980 with Professor Oluwole Akande as the foundation provost.[1][2]

The College is located about five kilometres from the main university, within the structure of The University College Hospital. It has a dormitory for students who are in their clinical years of study in the college. Training in the college is very vigorous, and students who successfully obtain degrees from the college are regarded as some of the best within the country.
