The Union of Campus Journalists, University of Ibadan (UCJ) is an organisation in University of Ibadan, which covers all the campus journalist organisations in the university. The UCJ was set up to look after the interest of campus journalists, train student journalists in the craft of writing, protect student journalists from the authorities, and generally provide an umbrella under which campus press organisations around the campus could operate.[1]
Founding[edit]
The UCJ was founded in 1987 by some concerned students who wanted an avenue to practice journalism at the university. It has produced "over 32 presidents and thousands of campus journalists and influential pillars of society.”[2]
