Collins Osuagwu (born April 20, 1973) is a politician and philanthropist. He is the governorship aspirant for the Social Democratic Party of Nigeria (SDP) for the Imo state gubernatorial election for 2019.[1] [2][3]
Early Life
Osuagwu was born on April 20, 1973, in Kaduna to the family of Chief Titus Osuagwu, a retired Nigerian soldier. He hails from Umuebia in Isiala Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State, south-east Nigeria. He attended Shell Camp Primary School, Imo State, and later Holy Ghost College, Owerri, in the Imo State’s capital city.[4][5][6]
He was a student of Enugu State University of Science and Technology before proceeding to Donetsk State University, Ukraine. After his first degree in political science, he pursued further studies at the Open University, London, where he earned a second degree in human resources. [7]
Career
Collins quest for entrepreneurship and business development led him to establish his own private businesses immediately after his university education. He founded Col Blue Ocean Line Limited; Collinso International Limited; Zeus Marina Oil and Gas Limited, and Collins Osuagwu Foundation as his charity outfit to reach out to his people at the lower economic echelon of life, especially among his community.[8][9]
He is the governorship aspirant for the Social Democratic Party of Nigeria (SDP) for the Imo state gubernatorial election for 2019.[10][11][12]

Collins holds a chieftaincy title among his people and has received several honours, awards, and recognitions both in the social, religious, political, and academic levels, but notably among them from his state are:
