Colorbaaj is a 2017 Indian Gujarati comedy drama film directed by Zanane Rajsingh, produced by Zanane Rajsingh and Viraj Shah, with a screenplay by Zanane Rajsingh. Starring Deeksha Joshi, Dev Mehta, Harsh Thakkar and Abhinay Banker, it is inspired by real underground parties which happened in Ahmedabad in mid 2000.[1]
Synopsis[edit]
Three friends plan a birthday party and manage to acquire a lot of alcohol for a city like Ahmadabad. In order to make it truly memorable, they invite everyone in their college, but somehow the invite goes viral and the entire city turns up for the party and things go completely out of control.[2]

Development[edit]
The initial draft of the film was written by Zanane Rajisngh, later Abhinay Banker was roped in to write screenplay and dialogues, who had earlier worked on CineMan Production's Kevi Rite Jaish and Shubharambh. The film was official title Colorbaaj was given by Zanane Rajsingh himself.[3]
Filming[edit]
The film is shot in 18 locations of Ahmedabad Ahmedabad, while one song is entirely shot in Dubai.[4]. The production design and art is done by Shruti Oza.[5][6]. Zanane Rajsingh had outsourced the production crew from Maharashtra, Hyderabad, Kerala, Rajasthan, among other places from Gujarat.[7]

Pallav Baruah composed the music for the film and lyrics were written by Margey Raval, Pallav Baruah and Shubit Sagar. The first song of the film, Colorbaaj Song was released on 21 July 2017 on Zee Music Gujarati YouTube channel. The song was sung by Raool, a rap artist based out in London (U.K.). Colorbaaj Song is the first Gujarati song sung by him.[8]. The song received positive reviews and amassed more than a million views on YouTube within 24 hours.[9]. Bollywood singer Divya Kumar sang Janam Janam, a romantic number shot entirely in Dubai, also garnered a lot of appreciation from the audience as well as the Gujarati film industry.[10]. Janam Janam Sad Version sung by Sowbhagya Rao, touched the audiences heart, while another song Tareekh by Shubit Sagar crossed 2 Million Views on YouTube and Facebook collectively.[11][12]
