The Columbus Wild Dogs[1] are a professional indoor football team based in Columbus, Ohio. They are a member of the Indoor Football League (IFL). They began play in 2023 at Nationwide Arena.[2]
History
Founded in 2012 as the Spokane Shock, there were talks about the Shock joining the National Arena League, but the NAL quickly dismissed the offer.[3] In 2021, the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena announced they would not extend their lease, and it was eventually terminated.[4] Owner Sam Adams announced a relocation to Columbus, Ohio. The team held a "Name The Team" contest, with over 1,000 submitted names.[5] They will begin play in 2023, and will play at Nationwide Arena.
