Comedy Utsavam, is a Malayalam comedy show which premiered on 20 November 2016 and is broadcast by Flowers (TV channel).[2] The show is directed by Mithilaj Abdul[1] and hosted by Mithun Ramesh and airs on Monday to Tuesday at 10.00 pm. It is a talent show that features dancers, singers, celebrity impersonators, comedians, and other performers.[3] The performances are analysed by chief reviewer Tini Tom along with his co-panel including Guinness Pakru, Kalabhavan Prajoth and Bijukuttan. The show provides a platform to showcase the talents of talented people across India. Currently, the new season of the show is Kidilan Comedy Utsavam.
Format
The show starts with a mimicry competition where contestants compete with others.[4] The contestants are directed to select three numbers randomly from a list where each number carries a hidden picture of a celebrity. From there, the competitors have to impersonate the celebrities hidden in the chosen numbers. The second phase of the show is a viral video session, where a performance of any person that went viral across social media is introduced in the show and they can showcase their talent on the show. It is followed by a special performance session called spot dubbing. During this session, they would show a movie clip and the performer would dub live on the stage of the characters seen on the screen.[5]
