Connor Joseph Murphy (born October 29, 1997) is an American football defensive end for the USC Trojans.

Early years[edit]

Murphy graduated from Brophy College Preparatory in Phoenix, Arizona in 2016. As a senior, he was named 2016 AZ Prep Star All-American.[1] As a junior in 2015 playing defensive end, he had 30 tackles, including 5 for loss, 2 sacks and 2 pass deflections despite being bothered all season with a groin injury that required surgery and limited him to 7 games.

A four star recruit, Murphy committed to the University of Southern California (USC) to play college football.[2][3][4] He was a letterman in track, threw the shot put and discus on Brophy College Preparatory track team.[5]

Brophy College Preparatory senior defensive end Connor Murphy, Nike Opening regional defensive lineman MVP award and an invitation to The Opening finals that started July 5, 2015 in Beaverton, Oregon.[6][7]

DE Connor Murphy 2016 4-star recruit made national headlines news for slumber party.[8], with Head Coach Jim Harbaugh of the University of Michigan Wolverines.

College career[edit]

In 2016, Murphy received USC's service team player of the year award.[9] In 2017, Murphy was only used in special teams. As a junior, Murphy saw action in 4 games, allowing him to redshirt. In 2019, Connor Murphy will compete for key playing time on the defensive line as a redshirt junior. Overall in his career, Murphy has 9 tackles, a fumble recovery and appeared in 27 games.

Personal life[edit]

Connor's brother, [Trent Murphy], plays in the National Football League (NFL). His sister, Kayli Murphy, played women's basketball for Arizona State University.[10]
