Constantine Venetopoulos is a Greek filmmaker based in New York City. He is the author of two books, Stolen Eve and The Aging Sin. Constantine is also the ambassador of his family business, Variety Cruises, voted by USA Today as the number one boutique cruise line worldwide in 2015.[1]

Filmmaker[edit]

In 2012, he founded Ithaka Films, a collaborative independent art-house production company. Constantine wrote, directed and produced his first short film, Silent Treatment, in 2013. The film was exhibited at the Peter Makebish gallery in New York. He directed music videos and recently wrote, directed and produced A Stone Appears, a short film featuring award winner Bill Skarsgård and Emma Doxiadi shot by cinematographer Sean Price Williams. He produced One Zero Run, a short film directed by Emma Doxiadi shot in the Cotswolds by cinematographer Thimios Bakatakis, who shot the film The Lobster, directed by Yorgos Lanthimos.

In 2018 he wrote, directed, and produced the film DRAW WITH ME in collaboration with THE TREVOR PROJECT, a documentary following in the footsteps of an artist youth Brendon Scholl, as they navigate through the complex waters of being a gender fluid youth in transition. Brendon's story first came to the public eye when their aunt - celebrity singer JLO - made a public post supporting the youth's journey as a non binary gender fluid youth. [2]. The documentary received immediate public attention throughout the media including the New York Post and GoodMorning America. [3] [4]

The latest film in development by ITHAKA FILMS is The Man in the Attic, a psychological thriller due in fall of 2018, featuring the debut of actress Emma Hepburn Ferrer, granddaughter of Audrey Hepburn </ref> [5]. The cast also includes a ballet performance by ABT's principal ballerina Luciana Paris. The film is said to be loosely shot under the DOGMA95 principals with a strong influence by Godfrey Reggio's VISITORS.

His plans for the future involve directing an experimental thriller entitled ALPHA TO OMEGA, among other projects.[6]

In 2012, Constantine founded the 'Kuntaur Film Festival'[7] bringing children’s films to the areas of West Africa that lacked access to electricity. He is also an actively engaged member of The Trevor Project, a suicide prevention line for LGBT young people.[8]
