    CoolStyles

    CoolStyles is a user style manager that combines user-supplied CSS style sheets with those provided by the website itself to alter the look of web pages in the user's browser without altering their content. In addition to installing user styles created by other CoolStyles users from a companion website, the Stylish browser extension comes with tools for writing user styles. These user styles can be more or less focused, focusing on a single webpage, all the pages within a domain, or all webpages on the internet.

    CoolStyles was originally developed by binhdev as an XUL/XPCOM add-on for Chrome. A Chrome extension followed in 2023.

    Technical details

    CSS code known as user styles is used to change a site's, certain sites', or all sites' look. Additionally, Stylish for Firefox allows you to style the browser's skin. However, because the Android version of the program integrates the user interface into native Android code, this feature is not supported. Only the designated targets receive the styles. It is possible to enable or disable specific user styles without needing to restart the browser.

    The site's CSS rules are supplemented with user styles, which have the ability to override the site's styling (usually needing the !important keyword for each replacement rule). Ad blocking, changing the color scheme, and removing extraneous page elements are the most popular applications.[14]
