Corfu Reading Society Sign

The Corfu Reading Society (Greek: Αναγνωστική Εταιρία Κερκύρας) is a nonprofit academic institution in Corfu, Greece. Founded in 1836, it oversees a library containing archives of historical documents, including a collection of Italian opera libretti that were published in the city during the 19th century.[1][2] It holds the most complete collection of libretti that were performed at the Nobile Teatro di San Giacomo di Corfù during that period.[3] In an overview of music-related resources in Greece, the music librarian Neil Ratliff described the collection as "one of the few music treasures of non-Greek interest to be found anywhere in Greece".[1]
