Corinne Jewelers

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Corinne Jewelers is an American jewelry retailer located in Toms River, New Jersey, known locally for their catchphrase "Bring her into Corinne." Corinne Jewelers is a member of the American Gem Society.[1]

Founding[edit]

Corinne Jewelers was established in 1964 by Mel Blumenthal (1930-2013),[2][3] and was named Corinne after a promise to Mel's wife, Corinne, to "put her name up in lights".[4]

Superstorm Sandy and reopening[edit]

In 2012, Corinne Jewelers was in the direct path of Superstorm Sandy, and sustained minimal physical damage, yet remained closed and without power for over seven days.[5] In 2014, Corinne Jewelers expanded their storefront, with a grand reopening ceremony on July 31, 2014.[6] The reopening of the store was attended by Toms River mayor Thomas Kelaher, who proclaimed that July 31st would be known as "Corinne Jewelers day".[7] On November 4, 2014, Corinne Jewelers sold a custom 1.64-carat radiant-cut pink diamond for $170,000 to a private buyer.[8][9]
