CORKBRICK EUROPE is a Portuguese company that manufactures and sells ready-to-assemble furniture or building architecture for use in residential, commercial or public spaces. [1] The company's headquarters are in Cascais, Portugal. [2] It was founded in 2012 by Miguel Reynolds Brandão and Catarina Reynolds Brandão.[3] It is currently valued at €250 million.[4]
History
In July 2014, the company formed an alliance with Nova Cortiça, to scale manufacturing capacity of blocks from cork granules. In 2015, it formed a partnership with (Idea)ology group to expand its operations in the US market, and the automation industry Inautom to support the development of quality control, molding processes and production line. [3] Its production unit is located at the Nova Cortiça plant in São Brás de Alportel.[5]
Starting in 2017, for the purpose of increasing its production capacity and starting commercialization throughout the EU, it conducted a series of equity crowdfunding campaigns.[1][6][7][8] At present, it has 260 investors from 30 countries.[9]

On 14 September 2020, the launch of augmented reality app running on PC, iOS and Android , CORKBRICK PLAY was announced. It functions to design structures or furniture equipment and visualize them into a real environment. [4][10]
