Cosmo: The Gate, also stylized as cosmo (Hangul: 코스모: romanized: koseumo) and formerly as Cosmo: The Origin. is a Korean mobile app created by the South Korean entertainment company Modhaus initially for the girl group TripleS. The app specializes in hosting fan-participatory events for the girl group, through the use of NFT and collectible photos. The app officially launched on August 8, 2022.
On June 19, 2023, the name of the app changed to incorporate a new section for ARTMS.
History
2022-present: Establishment
The software was developed by Naver D2 Startup Factory, CJENM, UNOPND, Timewise Investment, and Future Play in a formed investment. [1]. According to Jaden Jeong, CEO of MODHAUS, the application is for fans to participate in creating idols, as the first fan-participatory girl group through NFT and Blockchain technology. The name COSMO is taken from the girl groups inter-dimensional and universe concept. [2][3][4]
The app was originally scheduled to release in July 2022 but officially opened on August 8, 2022. The send and receive function officially launched on August 30, 2022. The voting function on the app, called Gravity, officially launched and began on September 21, 2022.
Concept
Cosmo allows fans to be more involved with the girl group tripleS. The 'Sigma' section on the app often shares exclusive content, such as exclusive videos and photos of the group. The 'Collect' section allows fans to collect the various digital photo cards of each member as well as trading the cards to complete a full set. Gravity is a voting system that can influence the future of the group with: Grand vote, Solo vote and Event vote, these include voting for things such as sub-units and concepts for the group. The digital photo cards are converted into 'COMO', a Non-fungible token which is used on the 'Gravity' section of the app. [5][6]

Cosmo is currently available for free on iOS on the Apple App Store and Android on the Google Play Store. The application has exclusive content as well as fan events to collect COMO, a voting token. As well as purchasing online photo cards on the app for a small fee which is converted into the voting token. Users can send and receive the photo cards to each other.

Content
The app officially opened on August 8, 2022, with the first collectible photo card set, Atom01 First Class Objekt - First Edition, being launched throughout the week. The physical versions were sold starting from August 18, 2022.
Atom01 First Class Objekt - Second Edition launched on September 19, 2022. On October 6, 2022, GS25 partnered with tripleS to sell physical versions in their retail stores.
