Costanza Verona (born 6 August 1999) is an Italian professional basketball player for the Dallas Wings of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). A guard, she previously played in Italy's Serie A1 for Battipaglia, Torino, GEAS and Famila Schio. Verona is also a member of the Italy women's national basketball team and won a bronze medal with Italy at EuroBasket Women 2025.

Early life and career

Verona was born in Palermo, Sicily, and developed in the youth system of Verga Palermo. She made her senior debut with the club in Serie A3 at age 15 and helped the team earn promotion to Serie A2.[1]

She subsequently moved to mainland Italy, playing for Battipaglia, Torino and GEAS Sesto San Giovanni before joining Famila Schio in 2021.[1]

Professional career

Famila Schio

Verona joined Famila Schio in 2021 and became a regular member of one of Italy's leading women's basketball clubs. During her tenure, Schio won multiple Italian league, Italian Cup and Italian Super Cup titles. She also competed with Schio in EuroLeague Women. During the 2025–26 EuroLeague season, Verona averaged 9.3 points per game in 15 appearances.[2]

Dallas Wings

The Dallas Wings signed Verona to a training camp contract in April 2026 following the conclusion of the Italian season. Dallas waived her during its final roster reductions on 4 May before signing her to a player development contract two days later.[3]

Verona made her WNBA debut on 9 June 2026 against the Minnesota Lynx. She scored four points and recorded two assists in six minutes.[3]

National team career

Verona represented Italy throughout the country's youth national-team system. She won bronze at the 2015 FIBA U16 Women's European Championship, silver at the 2016 FIBA U17 Women's Basketball World Cup and gold at the 2019 FIBA U20 Women's European Championship.

She later joined the senior Italy women's national basketball team. Verona appeared at EuroBasket Women 2023 and played a larger role at EuroBasket Women 2025, averaging 7.8 points, 4.3 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game.[4]

Italy advanced to the bronze-medal game at EuroBasket 2025, where Verona recorded 11 points, five rebounds, five assists and four steals in a victory over France.[5]

In 2026, Verona helped Italy qualify for the 2026 FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup, averaging 6.8 points, 3.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists during the qualifying tournament.[4]
