Courage Tshabalala
Courage Tshabalala (born 1971-05-27 in Eshowe, South Africa) was a heavily-hyped professional boxer in the heavyweight division in the 1990s. In his native language his name means "quiet warrior".
Amateur career[edit]
Tshabalala had a reported amateur boxing record of 72-1 with 72 knockouts. He lost his first amateur match by decision, and won all amateur bouts from then on by first round knockout.
Professional career[edit]
Known as "No Limit", Tshabalala began his career in 1993 with great promise, winning his first 19 fights as he was featured on major fight cards and on ESPN. His progression was shockingly halted [1] by journeyman Brian Scott in 1996 in a TKO loss and then in 1997 in a TKO loss to Darroll Wilson, although Tshabalala dropped Wilson twice in the 1st round.
In 1998 he was KO'd by future champion Oleg Maskaev in Russia, and he retired after the bout.
Comeback[edit]
In 2003 Tshabalala launched a brief comeback, winning three bouts before being TKO'd by journeyman Robert Wiggins, after Tshabalala quit on his stool [2]. He retired after the loss.
