Courtney Porter Orazine (born January 7, 1987) is an American beauty pageant titleholder from Clay, Alabama who was named Miss Alabama 2011.
Career[edit]
Porter began competing in pageants in 2003. She was crowned Miss Clay-Chalkville, Miss Talladega County, Miss Smiths Station, Miss Chattahoochie Valley, Miss Painted Rock, and Miss Leeds Area. Porter took third place as the 2009 Miss Alabama pageant and was named "Miss Congeniality". She placed in the top 10 at the 2010 Miss Alabama pageant.
Entering the state competition as Miss Leeds Area 2011, Porter won the title of Miss Alabama on June 11, 2011, when she received her crown from outgoing titleholder Ashley Davis.[1][2] Porter's platform was the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, an organization that provides after-school programs for at-risk young people.[3] Her competition talent for Miss Alabama was tap dance to "I Got Rhythm".[2]
Porter was Alabama's representative at the Miss America 2012 pageant in Las Vegas.[3][4][5] Porter was named a Top-13 Semi-finalist after she was chosen by her fellow contestants to remain in the competition as a "wild card" after not initially placing in the top 12. She did not make the top 10 and was eliminated from the competition.[6]
Personal life[edit]
Porter is a 2005 graduate of Clay-Chalkville High School in Birmingham, Alabama, and earned a bachelor's degree in communications from Auburn University in 2009.[4][7][8] In June 2012, she joined the United Way of Central Alabama as a relationship manager.[9] On May 4, 2013, she married Scott Orazine.[9] The couple live in Argo, a small town in St. Clair County, Alabama.[9]
