Cracow Golden Quintet is a Polish wind quintet performing classical music. It is formed by Natalia Jarząbek (flute), Damian Świst (oboe), Tomasz Sowa (clarinet), Małgorzata Wygoda (bassoon), and Konrad Gołda (horn).[1]
The ensemble specializes in performing music by Polish (Grażyna Bacewicz, Wojciech Kilar, Michał Spisak, Tadeusz Szeligowski) and foreign composers (Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Carl Nielsen, Jacques Ibert, Samuel Barber, György Ligeti). Cracow Golden Quintet also premieres and records works written by contemporary composers.[1] Apart from the standard repertoire, the quintet is open to cooperation with artists representing other musical genres.
In 2019 Cracow Golden Quintet won the second prize in the prestigious Stanisław Moniuszko International Competition of Polish Music in Rzeszów (2019).[2] This is one of the few important awards the band has received in recent years.
In 2020, musicians recorded their debut album entitled "Polish Wind Quintets" (DUX), featuring works by Polish composers. The CD was nominated for the FRYDERYK 2021 phonographic awards in the Chamber Music Album of the Year category.[3]
