Credo Recovery Ministries
Credo Recovery Ministries is a Christian program designed to help addicts through Jesus Christ.[1] It is based on Cursillo and Kairos Prison Ministry[1] and is considered to be a non-denominational offshoot of Cursillo.[2] The program runs several times a year, three times for the Maryland/West Virginia group, and several hundred people have completed the program. "Credo focuses on seeking intimate friendship with God in order to break unhealthy attachments and addictions."[1] The program lasts three and a half days and is run by lay practitioners with some help from clergymen.[3] The team that runs a Credo event spends about 30 hours preparing for the event.[3] Participants are encouraged to meet up at monthly reunions.[3]
There are Credo programs in several states including Maryland, West Virginia, New York, New Jersey, Illinois, Pennsylvania and Delaware.
