Crown Racing is an American racing team. The team currently competes in the Hoosier Racing Tire SCCA Super Tour, SCCA U.S. Majors Tour, and Hoosier Racing Tire Formula First Championship Series. Debuting at the 1990 in SCCA national competition the team competed at the SCCA National Championship Runoffs later that year. They currently have a driver team in Jeff Loughead and Graham Loughead. Crown Racing has earned over 125 victories in SCCA competition.
Racing History
Jeff Loughead started racing a Lotus Europa in SCCA solo competition. He then soon moved to a Formula Vee. He made his SCCA National Championship Runoffs debut at Road Atlanta in a Predator PC1. He started 26th and finished 10th.[1] Four years later at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course he achieved his first podium finishing second, 3.567 behind Bill Noble in a Citation 92C. [2] In 2004, he won the SCCA National Championship Runoffs in a Vortech CR04. [3]. Loughead has been on the podium of a SCCA National Championship Runoffs a total of three times in his SCCA career. [4] He also holds the track record at Autobahn Country Club South Circuit. [5]. While, Graham Loughead started racing a Yamaha KT100 in the Kart Racers of America Series (KRA) at New Castle Motorsports Park in 2014. He then moved to a Formula Vee in 2018 in SCCA regional competition. In three races he won every race at Blackhawk Farms Raceway and Gingerman Raceway. [6] [7] In 2019, the team announced he will be racing in SCCA U.S. Majors Tour competition at tracks such as Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and Road America. It was also announced he will be racing a Formula First at Road America and Grattan Raceway in the Hoosier Racing Tire Formula First Championship Series.
