Cruise1st is a travel agent based in MediaCityUK, Manchester, established in January 2000 and traded under the name Text Abroad Holiday until 2003.[1]

Cruise1st was originally launched in 2000, trading under Text Abroad Holiday.[1]

They were acquired by Island Cruises in October 2003 and, after the merger between First Choice and TUI Travel UK, became wholly owned by Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd (NYSE: RCL) in November 2008.[2][3][4]

Cruise1st launched their Australian subsidiary Cruise1st Australia in 2010, followed by Cruise1st Singapore in 2013.[5][6][7]

In November 2015 the company went through a management buy out with 3 senior managers taking control of the company.

In January 2018 the company opened the UK's first interactive cruise store in the Lowry Outlet Mall at Media City

Cruise1st.tv[edit]

In January 2015, Cruise1st launched Cruise1st.tv - a cruise shopping TV strand on Sky Channel 266, daily from 2pm to 5pm.[8]

In January 2016, Cruise1st began to broadcast on HOCHANDA - Sky 663 | Freeview 39 | Freesat 817, every Thursday at 6pm.

On the 2nd May 2016 Cruise1st launched TV Cruise Channel on Sky Channel 261. The channel broadcasts 7 days a week from 7am to 7pm and features a selection of editorial shows fronted by Cheryl Baker and Julie Peasgood.

In February 2017, Cruise1st completed the purchase of their own Sky EPG. Cruise1st.tv launched on 23rd February broadcasting 24 hours a day on Sky Channel 680 and live online at www.cruise1st.tv.[9]
