Cruze, Rachel

Rachel Cruze (born 1989) is a finance author and advisor. She saw first-hand how her own parents built themselves up after losing everything. Growing up she heard people tell her dad, “I wish I’d heard this message years ago,” inspiring her to teach the hard lessons her parents had to endure. From the age of 15, she was addressing audiences of as many as 12,000.

Career[edit]

Cruze – having watched her parents file for bankruptcy – knows what it’s like to struggle with money. She also thus understands how to avoid the dangers of debt and she travels around America advising others on this subject.[1] In addition she has co-authored books with her father Dave Ramsey as well as writing books on her own on how to deal with money.

Cruze travels around America speaking at various conferences (including The Legacy Journey LIVE! And Smart Conference), student forums, businesses, churches etc., sharing her story and imparting fiscal advice in a fun, uplifting way. In 2014 her video blog was launched.

TV appearances[edit]

Cruze has appeared on various TV shows, talking about her books and what she learned as a child. These include: Good Morning America, The Today Show, The Meredith Vieira Shos, Katie and Fox and Friends. She also has 29.6k followers on Instagram.[2]

Publications[edit]

Together with her father Dave Ramsey, Cruze wrote a book called ‘Smart Money Smart Kids: Raising the Next Generation to Win the Money.’ It was published by Thomas Nelson in 2014 and became a best seller, reaching Number 1 on the New York Times Best Seller List, as well as The Wall Street Journal and Publishers Weekly.[3] ollowing the book, the two put together six classes based on the theories contained in the book.[4]

Other books she has written include: The Graduate’s Survival Guide and Safeguarding Your Legacy.[5] She has also made contributions to Woman’s Day.

Cruze has a degree from the University of Tennessee.[6]
