Early life

Mario and Serafin got together making music at the age of 13 in Tirana, Albania under a different alias. They both had shown interest in music since a very young age. They started producing and releasing songs under the name of CryJaxx in late 2015. After graduating high school, they both decided to follow a career in music. They are also currently studying economics at the University of Tirana.

Career

2013-2015

CryJaxx started producing their own music when they were 13 years old. They were both heavily inspired by the new EDM scene and showed great talent in making songs. They released a few tracks under a different alias, but they didn’t get a lot of attention.

2016-2018

With them rebranding under the name of CryJaxx, they released 5 songs in 2016, 20 songs in 2017, including tracks such as “Back Eyes and Blue” and “All I Need” which were signed to record label Ninety9Lives and “Everlasting” signed to Frequency Music. Worth mentioning is their hit single “Emperor” which is one of their biggest tracks to date and was released by Sensual Musique, receiving radio play in different countries. In 2018, CryJaxx released 20 songs including “All of You”, “Rise Above”, a remix of Dua Lipa’s hit “IDGAF” which was supported by the biggest music channel on YouTube, Trap Nation. They went viral and trending on SoundCloud with their remix of Marshmello and Anne-Marie hit single “FRIENDS”. Later in 2018 they released “Destruction” and “Ponder”, which got a lot of attention on YouTube and gathered millions of views. CryJaxx received support from Trap City on their singles “Who Would've Thought” and “We Got Hustle”. “Who Would've Thought” was later supported by the well-known DJ and producer R3hab. The track surpassed over 1,700,000 streams on Spotify.

2019 - Present

In 2019, they were more focused on building their sound and brand. CryJaxx again released 20 tracks that year including tracks like “Maad Loud”, “Raabta”, “Casino Love”, “Ghost”, “War Flaut” and a cover of Beyoncé and Shakira “Beautiful Liar”. All of these tracks were released by the independent Dutch label, Tribal Trap. “Raabta” was also played multiple times on SiriusXM Insomniac Radio and SiriusXM Diplo's Revolution with the support of Trap Nation Radio.

They have also worked with Magic Record, an independent record label based in New York to release “As I Am”, “The Time Is Now”, a cover of the well-known track by John Cena, and “You Need You”, which marked the first release of a music video by CryJaxx. This song follows the story of a boy dealing with depression and reminds listeners facing depression and anxiety to love themselves and to know that their lives are important.

For the release of their single “Brave”, CryJaxx teamed up with Trap Nation and their record label, Lowly. “Brave” received support and was played by The Chainsmokers in their SiriusXM BPM Radio Show. CryJaxx music has been placed multiple times in several Dance & EDM music charts, including Apple Music and SoundCloud, featured on a few Spotify Editorial Playlists and gathered millions of streams, views and listeners across all platforms.

CryJaxx on tour in Guiyan, China(2019)

As DJs, they played a few small gigs in their hometown until they made their first big appearance at the biggest festival in Albania, Colour Day Festival, on the 18th of May, 2019. Later on they had their inaugural tour of China in September and October, 2019, where they played 9 different shows in 9 different major Chinese cities, including Shanghai, Changsha, Zhanjiang, Zhenjiang, Guiyang, Dalian, Hangzhou etc. and very prestigious clubs such as Play House, Dr. Oscar, REX, Space Club, Hardstar (official partner of Defqon.1) and a few others. On December 20th, 2019, CryJaxx performed in the first ever electronic dance music festival in Albania called "Rage of the Rampage" alongside the Polish well known DJ and Producer, Blinderz.

Mario and Serafin also have worked closely with award-winning investigative reporter, Ian Urbina, who writes most often for The New York Times, but is also a contributing writer for The Atlantic and a regular contributor to National Geographic, and a member of the High Seas Initiative Leadership Council at The Aspen Institute. Urbina is the author of The New York Times bestseller “The Outlaw Ocean” (2019) on which CryJaxx were involved in a new idea of making soundtracks for books. They released a 4 track EP titled “Le Voyage” on which they conveyed the emotions from this book into the art of music.

This is what they said about this project: “We are so honored to be part of this great cause and super happy we got to work with people that are making a change in the world. This is a little summery for our first ever EP which is very different from our usual style but very fitting for the project. With naming the EP and the tracks individually we wanted to tell a story. It's "Le Voyage" of a lifetime. The “Fluid Borders” in the ocean are dangerous and life threatening, but we want to portray that these borders in art are really fluid and we can move them for the good of the people. Then the opposite of the good people might be "Armed and Dangerous" people, so we wanted to make a catchy and dangerous melody to make the heart beat a bit faster. But, the ocean is an “Undiscovered Realm” and we just see the surface but what lies beneath it is a mystery to all of us. To close off the album we really aimed to show that there is hope and that we have the “Sea Guardians” just like Ian and other people who really care about what is happening and are giving these issues a voice and a solution to make the world a better place, one wave at a time.”

CryJaxx have announced that they are working with a few well-known Albanian singers in remixing and making original productions for them. They have also announced that they are working on a lot of singles and numerous international collaborations with well-known artists from all around the world.
