Cuckmere Buses[1] is an independent bus operator based in Berwick, East Sussex. It is run by volunteers.[2]
History[edit]
Cuckmere Community Bus was established in 1976 with assistance from East Sussex County Council and Southdown Motor Services to operate services in the Cuckmere Valley region.[3][4] The service is almost self-supporting but small donations are made annually by most of the parish councils concerned.
The company was rebranded as Cuckmere Buses in April 2013.[5]
Services[edit]
Cuckmere Buses operates services to Brighton, Eastbourne, Heathfield, Lewes, Hailsham and Seaford as well as villages in the Cuckmere Valley and South Downs National Park.[5]
Fleet[edit]
A fleet of integral Mercedes-bodied Mercedes-Benz Sprinters are used to provide services.
