Cypress Telecom Limited (trade name CypressTel) is a private telecommunications network service provider headquartered in Hong Kong. Founded in 2008, the company offers software-defined wide area network (SD-WAN), and secure access service edge (SASE).[1][2]
History
CypressTel was founded in 2008 and obtained a telecommunications operator license in Hong Kong the same year.[3][4] In 2016, it was recognized as a National High-tech Enterprise in China and began independently developing software-defined networking (SDN) and network functions virtualization (NFV) products. In August 2019, the company passed the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT) “SD-WAN Ready” certification.[5] In 2021, it contributed to the industry white paper SD-WAN Global Technology and Industry Development.[6]
In July 2022, Digital Realty and CypressTel announced a partnership to provide interconnectivity solutions in China.[7][8][9] The company was included in iResearch's "China SDN Industry Chain and Industry Map" report.[10] It also contributed to the industry standard "Key Technical Indicator System for Software-Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN)", which took effect in April 2024.[11]
In September 2024, CypressTel and Huawei established a joint innovation lab focused on SD-WAN, SASE, and AI technologies.[12]
Industry recognition
In November 2023, the company received the Most Valuable SD-WAN & SASE Brand Award at the 6th SD-WAN & SASE Conference in China.[13] In December 2024, it recieved the Delivering The Edge – Northeast Asia at the W.Media Asia Pacific Cloud & Datacenter Awards.[14] In February 2025, the company received the Gold Prize for Best Connectivity Solution at the Juniper Research Future Digital Awards.[15]the same year it was recognized by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Science and Technology as the Guangdong Provincial Cybersecurity Intelligent Computing Engineering Technology Research Center.[16]
