The D'Arcy Spice[1] is a late-keeping dessert apple. Found in Essex, England in 1785. Introduced to market in 1848. Size: height 57–61 mm, width 64–67 mm. A greenish-yellow apple with strong ribbing. Five-crowned at the apex. A trace of reddish-brown flush on some apples. Very short stalk. Flesh greenish-white with an aromatic flavour. Picking in mid-October. Use December to April.
