The second and current incarnation of the DC Animated Movie Universe (DCAMU), also known as Tomorrowverse, is an American media franchise and shared universe centered on a series of superhero films, produced by Warner Bros. Animation and DC Entertainment and distributed by Warner Home Video.

The films are part of the DC Universe Animated Original Movies line, based on the comic books published by DC Comics, and feature plot elements inspired by DC Rebirth continuity. The franchise has received positive reviews for its themes and creative direction, and has obtained high sales. As of 2022, five films and two short films have been distributed.

Development[edit]

The franchise was named "Tomorrowerse" after Superman: Man of Tomorrow (2021), and coined by fans sometime after the release of Justice Society: World War II (2021) and Batman: The Long Halloween (2021) due to recurring voice actors and the same animation used since Superman: Man of Tomorrow.

The in-universe timeline was established following the events of the previous DC Animated Movie Universe continuity (2013–2020), at the end of the film Justice League Dark: Apokolips War (2020), in which John Constantine convinced Barry Allen / Flash to reset the Darkseid-ridden world by creating a second Flashpoint. The consequences of Constantine's actions are explored in the short film Constantine: The House of Mystery (2021).[1]
