Formerly known as Djeff Afrozila,[1] he now presents himself as DJEFF. He is viewed by some of the leading figures of electronic music,[2] as one of the spearheads[3] behind the Afro House movement coming out of Angola, that has taken over the world of House Music.[4] Born and raised in the suburbs of Lisbon (Alverca) Tiago Barros is a awarded[5][6] dj/producer that has been ranked as one of the top world Afro House djs[7][8][9] in the world. Became known to a wider audience with the single he presented back in 2010 with Sylivi "Cajinka[10]".[11] Back in 2011 created Kazukuta Records[12][13] in order to support up and coming artists looking for an opportunity.[14] He gather further wider attention, after his performance at Red Bull Boiler Room in Lisbon,[15] that streamed online. Soon after he became a regular on the major Portuguese music festivals[16][17][18][19][20] and other major international shows[21][22] and festivals.[23] In 2018 launches Zugu Zugu through Spinnin' Deep,[24] with the likes of Black Coffee but also Pete Tong playing it on BBC Radio 1.[25] Late in 2019 signs with Diplo then newly formed label Higher Ground[26] - a sister his other label [27]Mad Decent; launching shortly after his EP - Time & Freedom.[28] Currently working on his next studio album "Enlightened Path", with the first single "Enlightened Path", already played by Pete Tong on his radio show on BBC Radio 1[29]
