Danny D is a Canadian disc jockey and radio personality known for his work on the Greater Toronto Area dance station Z103.5, where he mixes the station's Drive @ 5 Streetmix alongside The Hammer.[1][2] He was named Club Dance DJ of the Year at the 2010 Stylus DJ Awards.[3]

Career

Danny D mixes Drive @ 5 Streetmix on Z103.5, a weekday afternoon programme he co-hosts with The Hammer.[1] The show is mixed live using vinyl records and compact discs. He has also presented the station's Saturday Night Streetmix and a midday Wayback show.[1]

In a 2024 interview with the Toronto business podcast What Would It Cost?, Danny D and The Hammer discussed the station's role in promoting euro music in North America and in the early exposure of Canadian artists, and their work on the station's Summer Rush concerts.[2]

Recognition

At the 2010 Stylus DJ Awards, held in Toronto and reported by Exclaim!, Danny D received the award for Club Dance DJ of the Year. Other winners that year included Drake for Canadian hip-hop single, Boi-1da as Canadian producer and Melanie Fiona for Canadian R&B single.[3]
