DMGS Roundabout
DMGS Roundabout, Onitsha, is a roundabout located at the intersection of four roads: Awka Road, Ozalla Road, Oguta Road, and Upper New Market Road Onitsha. The Roundabout had the monument of Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe, the first president of Nigeria.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8]

Description
The DMGS roundabout is one of the iconic sights along the Onitsha City Marathon route, bearing the statue of Nnamdi Azikiwe, the First President of Nigeria who is from Onitsha. It contains five expansive elephant tusk-like sculptures representing the 5 states of the south east, tied with a bead, symbolizing unity of the states.[9][10]
Background
The roundabout which has been around since 1960s took its name from the Dennis Memorial Grammar School at the junction. All saints cathedral Onitsha is located adjacent to the roundabout to the northwest and DMGS to the north east.[11][12][13][14][15]
Vandalism
The statue was burnt by hoodlums infiltrating #EndSARS protesters in Onitsha, Anambra State.[16][17]
