Dainik Prantajyoti is a Bengali daily newspaper published from Silchar, Assam.[1]
History
In 1961, the entire Barak Valley was fighting for the right to the Bengali language. Jyotirindra Chandra Dutt Kalda, the legendary media personality of Barak Valley, was the founding editor of Thanhjyoti. Dainik Prantajyoti gained popularity among readers due to its impartiality. But a devastating fire ended it all. Later, Dainik Prantajyoti started its second innings under the leadership of veteran journalist Paresh Dutt with a group of young journalists armed with modern equipment by Baron Manish Das and Subrata Pal. The first issue was published on 8 May 2009. The first year surpassed all local media records.
