Daisy Edgar-Jones (born 24 May 1998) is an English actress.
Early life and education[edit]
Edgar-Jones grew up in Muswell Hill, London. She is the daughter of Sky Arts boss Philip Edgar-Jones.[1] Daisy has been acting since she participated in a school play at the age of 5.[2] She attended the The Mount School for Girls and later graduated from Woodhouse College, obtaining a grade A*AB in drama and theatre studies[3] before going on to train with the National Youth Theatre.[4]
Career[edit]
At 17, Edgar-Jones was cast as Olivia Marsden in ITV's British Comedy Drama Cold Feet alongside James Nesbitt.[5] In 2018 she appeared as Jessica Thompson in Silent Witness,[1] as Kate in Outnumbered: Christmas Special 2018 on BBC One and in independent coming-of-age feature film Pond Life directed by Bill Buckhurst.[6]
Edgar-Jones had a recurring role as Delia Rawson in 2019 BBC and HBO series Gentleman Jack. She was originally cast in Indian film RRR but pulled out.
Edgar-Jones will star as Emily in upcoming series War of the Worlds opposite Gabriel Byrne and Elizabeth McGovern. On 31 May 2019, it was announced that Edgar-Jones had been cast in the main role of Marianne alongside Paul Mescal as Connell in upcoming Hulu and BBC series Normal People, an adaptation of the novel by Sally Rooney.[7][8]
