Dalmatians 3 is a video game made by Phoenix Software. The game is often recognized as one of the worst video games in history, due to the poor gameplay and animation, along with crudely edited voice acting.
Plot[edit]
There is a collection of minigames that do not relate to the main story aside from featuring Dalmatians, the game's titular breed of dog. Among the minigames, there is a sliding puzzle, a jigsaw puzzle, and a colouring game reminiscent of Nintendo's Mario Paint.
In the maing storyline, there is a forty-five minute film about three Dalmatians. The plot and voice acting are essentially all poorly edited and not well synchronized, thus making the film very hard to follow, but there is a crow that serves as the narrator. The first part of the movie introduces the main characters, Peno, Sasha and Lucy. A cat named Charlie plays pranks on the Dalmatians, and the Dalmatians retaliate by having Charlie look for a mouse in a tree in which they have placed a mouse trap. The trap catches on Charlie's nose.
The Dalmatians head off into town where they are captured and brought to a pound and forced by two larger dogs, possibly of the Doberman Pinscher breed, to do work. A notorious part of the film, the chase scene in which the Dalmatians escape, is often a point a reference for the poor quality of the game.
Reception[edit]
The game was met with negative reception, with criticism being dealt toward its gameplay, animation, and voice acting. Though it currently has no score on Metacritic, the GameSpot user average is currently 3.8.[1]
YouTube personality and online video game critic "Caddicarus" brought light on the game in a video released March 2, 2014, saying that it is worse than the Legend of Zelda games for the Philips CD-i.
The game has also been criticized for its cover's false advertising, which shows characters similar to that of Cruella de Vil and the Dalmatians from the 1961 Disney film, One Hundred and One Dalmatians.
