Dan Pye is an award-winning British voice actor and Astronomer.[2][3][4] Known best as the Geordie accent of stand up comedian and Britain's Got Talent winner from 2018, Lee Ridley (comedian)[5][6], his works with Sega, EA Games and on national and international productions, as well as being the current Director of Astronomy and Science Communication at the Kielder Observatory in Northumberland.[7]
Announced in April 2021, Dan Pye recorded the voice with company Cere Proc in Edinburgh to provide the new computerised voice.[8]. Dan Pye is a regular spokes person for Kielder Observatory via online news articles and in local press and television, and via published science literature papers and journal entries.[9][10]
Dan Pye has featured as a voice actor in titles from Sega including Two Point Campus[11], Lost in Random from EA Origins, and appeared in TV programs such as The Heist (TV series) alongside working as a continuity announcer on Channel 4 television in the UK.
In May 2022, Dan won a national award for recognition of work within the voice over industry at the One Voice Awards UK. This was for his work as one of the commercial voices in Asda stores nationwide, produced by Mood Media.

Astronomy[edit]
Dan Pye is the current Director of Astronomy and Science Communication at the Kielder Observatory in Northumberland. He is responsible for the running of more than 700 annual events held on site, teaching activities in schools and other centres across the North East of England and beyond. During Dan's tenure of the position, the Observatory has undergone vast changes including a change CEO for the first time since it's opening in 2008, to the evolution on online outreach, radio telescope installation, construction of new buildings and facilities, and winning Gold in the Small Visitor Attraction of the Year category at the North East Tourism Awards 2022.[12]
