Dana Hakimi
Dana Hakimi (Persian: دانا حکیمی, /ˈhækɪmɪ/; April 21, 1999) is an Iranian television actor and a freelance filmmaker. Hakimi's first television appearance was at age four in action-thriller show Asleep & Awake (Persian: خواب و بیدار, broadcast in 2003) alongside his father Danial Hakimi, and portrayed the role of his son just as in real life. Early life and education
Dana Hakimi was born April 20, 1999 in Tehran, Iran. The son of Iranian film, stage, television, and radio actor Danial Hakimi. He has an older sister, Dayana Hakimi (actress, born 1995). Hakimi attended and graduated from IRIB Art School of Animation in Tehran, Iran. He continued his studies at University of Southern California, studying Theatre at the School of Dramatic Arts and Film & TV Production at the School of Cinematic Arts. [2] [3] Growing up in a family involved in art and media, he has always been aspired to follow his father's footsteps. [4]
Career
Acting
Dana Hakimi was initially appeared in action/thriller tv show, Asleep & Awake originally known as خواب و بیدار , at age four in year 2003. He occurred as son of the lead policeman portrayed by his father Danial Hakimi. [5][6] He did not reappear on the screen until his adolescence at age 15 which he obtained his first dialogue driven part by playing the role of "Pasha" an anxious teenager in action-drama tv show, Redemption (2014) originally known as رهایی . [7][8] In 2016, Hakimi attained his third role in social-drama tv show, Faraway (2016) originally known as دوردست ها , and performed the role of "Hamed" a teenager who had lost his mother during his childhood and his father is a drug addict. Directing and Producing
Apart from acting, Dana Hakimi has added some experience to his artistic career by producing and directing short films in the right track of his media background. He directed and produced his first short film, "Return" (2014) at age 15 which acquired him many local awards in Tehran, Iran. Most recently he has participated in making the short film, "Rapid Eye Movement (REM)" (2020) as the executive producer. [11][12] He has written, produced, and directed numerous short films during his time as a USC student.
