Dancing Turtle Films is a London-based film production company founded in 2009. Its releases cover subjects including human rights, the environment and civil resistance[1].

Background[edit]

An undercover documentary on West Papua’s independence struggle called Forgotten Bird of Paradise was the company's first production. It featured on BBC Newsnight and also premiered at the Raindance Film Festival in London[2].

Its other releases include a biopic on the self-proclaimed reincarnation of the legendary British leader, King Arthur, as well as a feature length documentary about the Nobel Peace Prize nominated West Papua independence leader Benny Wenda[3], a short film on anti-government protests in Turkey called Başlangıç, and an undercover report on the self-determination movement in Western Sahara called La Badil[4].

Dancing Turtle Films is part of the Dancing Turtle Group which also incorporates Dancing Turtle Records and a creative agency division.[5]
