History
Dandot Cement Limited (PSX: DNCC) was incorporated in 1980 and began its production in 1983.[1][2][3]
DNCC is a subsidiary of Calicom Industries (Private) Limited.[1][2][3]
Dandot Cement completed an upgrade of its plant in Punjab, Pakistan, to meet environmental standards and restart commercial production. The project, with a capacity of 504,000 tons, was carried out in collaboration with China's Tianjin Cement Industry Design and Research Institute Company Ltd (TCDRI) and cost an estimated PKR6.21 billion (US$21.58 million). The upgrade included the installation of a 5MW solar power plant. The company invested PKR2.972 billion in equity for the project.[4]
Dandot Cement has secured a Rs500 million interest-free convertible loan from Tetra Engineering (Private) Limited to fund its Balancing, Modernization, and Replacement (BMR) activities and cover working capital needs. The loan can be converted into Dandot Cement shares at a rate of Rs25 per share.[5]
Based on the search results, Dandot Cement was indeed one of the companies fined in the cement cartel case. A 2009 decision by the Competition Commission of Pakistan imposed a cumulative fine of Rs6.35 billion on 20 cement companies for alleged price fixing and cartelization, and Dandot Cement was fined Rs42 million. The case's hearing is set to resume soon at the Competition Appellate Tribunal.[6]
