Daneon Parchment (born 21 March 1982) is a Jamaican football referee and physical education educator. He has been officiating in the Jamaica Premier League since 2012 and has been a full international referee for FIFA and CONCACAF since 2017.
Refereeing career
Parchment began his refereeing career in the domestic youth and regional leagues of Jamaica before advancing to the top-tier Jamaica Premier League (JPL) in 2012.[1]
In 2017, Parchment was officially appointed to the FIFA International Referees List. He quickly established himself as one of the leading Jamaican officials under CONCACAF, officiating fixtures across the CONCACAF Gold Cup, CONCACAF Nations League, and CONCACAF Champions Cup.[2]
At the 2019 CONCACAF Gold Cup, he was selected to referee the group stage fixture between Trinidad and Tobago and Guyana in Kansas City. Beyond his responsibilities as a main referee, Parchment was among the first group of Jamaican officials to earn FIFA VAR certification, frequently serving as a Video Assistant Referee (VAR) for major CONCACAF knockout matches and FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Outside refereeing
Outside of refereeing, Parchment works as a physical education teacher and sports administrator in Jamaica. He is active in community sports development and regularly participates in educational workshops to mentor aspiring referees across the Caribbean region.[citation needed]
